چکیده

Background Myocarditis can present with acute coronary syndromelike (ACS) symptoms, new-onset heart failure (NOHF) or life threatening arrhythmias (LTA) with various ECG and laboratory test abnormalities. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) tissue characterization using Late Gadolinium Enhancement (LGE) and T2 weighted (T2W) imaging is the non-invasive diagnostic tool of choice. The relationship between the clinical features of myocarditis and the diagnostic value of CMR however is unclear.

The usefulness of cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging in children with myocardial diseases.

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is a clinically proven and reliable diagnostic method for the assessment of morphology, function, and characteristics of myocardial tissue in patients with myocardial diseases. The use of gadolinium contrast agents has created new diagnostic possibilities for tissue characterisation in patients with suspected or known cardiomyopathy, my...

Diagnostic Performance and Safety of Positron Emission Tomography Using 18F-Fluciclovine in Patients with Clinically Suspected High- or Low-grade Gliomas: A Multicenter Phase IIb Trial

Objective(s): The study objective was to assess the diagnostic performance of positron emission tomography (PET) for gliomas using the novel tracer 18F-fluciclovine (anti-[18F]FACBC) and to evaluate the safety of this tracer in patients with clinically suspected gliomas. Methods: Anti-[18F]FACBC was administered to 40 patients with clinically suspected high- or low-grade gliomas, followed by PET...

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance risk stratification in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis

BACKGROUND The diagnosis of myocarditis is challenging due to its varying clinical presentation. Since myocarditis can be associated with significant 5-year mortality, and postmortem data show myocarditis in almost 10% of all adults suffering sudden cardiac death, individual risk stratification for patients with suspected myocarditis is of great clinical interest. We sought to demonstrate that ...

Diagnostic performance of CMR imaging compared with EMB in patients with suspected myocarditis.

OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to assess the diagnostic performance of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) compared with endomyocardial biopsy in patients with suspected acute myocarditis (AMC) and chronic myocarditis (CMC). BACKGROUND Several studies have reported an encouraging diagnostic performance of CMR in myocarditis. However, the comparison of CMR with clinical data only and the u...

Performance of t1 and t2 mapping cardiovascular magnetic resonance to detect active myocarditis in patients with recent-onset heart failure.

BACKGROUND This study evaluated the performance of novel quantitative T1 and T2 mapping cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques to identify active myocarditis in patients with recent-onset heart failure. METHODS AND RESULTS Thirty-one consecutive patients with recent-onset heart failure, reduced left ventricular function and clinically suspected myocarditis underwent endomyocardial...
